Craig was introduced to the fresh fish industry by his parents, Judy and Derek, who moved to Palmerston North in the early seventies.  They purchased Broadway Fisheries, which was situated in the centre of town, and it wasn’t long before they had their own trawler catching the fish for them.  This gave the whole family an all-important introduction to the catching, handling, processing and retailing of top-quality seafood, which led to the next milestone, owning and managing an award-winning fish and chip shop in Milson.
Craig has enjoyed returning to seafood retail after varied careers, from managing Mobil sites to owning and managing a painting company.
